Going Bald & Making People Happy!

It’s been a hectic year for Love Soul Co-Creators Steve Giles & Jack White. Aside from their usual musical activities, Steve & Jack have turned their attention to Charity this year.

So far this year, Steve and his brother Toby have setup ‘The Giles Brothers’. They’ve raised £1,500 already and have made a big difference to a lot of people’s lives.

Jack will be celebrating his birthday in a bit of an odd way this Friday. He’s raising money for Diabetes research and will be shaving all of his hair off! You can donate here.

Free Charity Single Download Available

Over the past years we’ve had a close relationship with X Factor finalist Daniel Evans. We love his passion and care for real Soul music. We were delighted when Dan asked us to perform on his single “I’m Already There.” It has taken a little bit of time, but we’re pleased to announce that you can now download the single by clicking here.

This song has been made available to download for free but we kindly ask that before you click the link above, you please make a donation to the ‘Niamh’s Next Step’ charity, even the smallest donation helps.

The charity is helping children with neuroblastoma (a very aggressive type of cancer that mainly affects babies and young children) to get help abroad if they can’t join UK trials, or if they need a treatment that is only available outside of the UK.
They help with treatment costs, support families and fund research. It’s a brilliant charity, that we’re very pleased to be supporting here at Love Soul HQ.

Reading, Home To A New Choir…

It’s plain and simple, our aim is that every singer in the UK gets to experience Love Soul at least once in their life.This means that to pursue our dream, by opening up new choirs, every year we’re moving closer to our final destination. We’re very pleased to announce that Love Soul Choir Reading will be open in July 2012! Reading is the fourth location where we’ve opened a Love Soul Choir, and we’re expecting big things for 2012.

Auditions are taking place on July the 1st at the Novotel Hotel, 25b Friar Street, Reading RG1 1DP.

We’re looking for singers to join our new choir, so please apply for your audition by heading over to this page.

Singing Beyond The Sea

Love Soul Choir team member Dan Cooper led a team of ambitious travel agents to musical success last week at the A.C.E Cruise Convention in Southampton.

Princess Cruises approached Love Soul last year as they were arranging a 2 day choir workshop to be held at Carnival UK, for travel agents across the country. They were aiming to create their very own Pop Choir to perform at a cruise convention with Liz McClarnon from 90’s girl group ‘Atomic Kitten.’
Rather aptly, they requested that Love Soul taught holiday themed songs, to really get people into the cruising spirit!

Last minute, they had a few people drop out, so Dan asked for help from Southampton Love Soul Choir members. Luckily, they quite like Dan, so they said yes!
After tuition and guidance from Dan, you won’t be surprised to know that the performance was a great success.
They ended the evening with a performance of ‘The Tide Is High’ with Liz and have received lots of great feedback.

Face Of Love Soul 2012 Is Announced

Last night the Love Soul Choir Co-Creators (Steve Giles & Jack White) announced the ‘Face Of Love Soul Award 2012.’
It’s plain and simple; Like Thea Sass & Kim Garner, Louise Dash-Carter is ‘all things Love Soul’.
Louise is obviously dedicated to developing her voice, and this shows how much she loves to sing. She takes opportunities at Love Soul Choir, and runs with them. This year, Louise traveled to London with Steve Giles, to attend a ‘Vocal Health Forum.’ She performed live on ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ with Love Soul Choir, and rarely misses a Weekly Session!
This leads us onto dedication. We love members that fight the rain, snow, thunder, family problems and work issues to come to our sessions. Louise is a prime example of this. Not only this, but once she’s at the session, her dedication to the harmonies, lyrics and dance concepts is incredible.
Of course there were other ‘contenders’ for this huge award, but when we imagined Louise’s smile, it sealed the deal! Regardless of how her day has been, we’ve never seen Louise frown. She lifts the room with her presence.
She makes amazing cakes and in Daniel Cooper’s words (Love Soul Creative Team), she’s “…literally amazing…”

Trip To The Vocal Health Forum, Anyone?

Last month, Love Soul Co-Creator, Steve Giles travelled to London to visit a ‘Vocal Health Forum.’ Good vocal care is so important to us, so we offered Love Soul members the chance to travel with us to the event. It was pretty short notice, but that didn’t stop Southampton Member, Louise Dash-Carter! They had a fantastic day, and clearly picked up lots of information on the voice.

Bournemouth, A New Era

We are ‘over the moon’ with our new choirs at Love Soul. Duncan Heather has led the ship in Manchester, and stamped Love Soul on the map up North. Each week, he meets passionate people, that are all there to make an amazing sound… what a ‘job!’

But what about all of the people in the South of the UK? As you will already know, for years, Love Soul Choir Southampton has been leading the way in the choir world. After all, they changed the meaning of the word ‘Choir’. But now, we have some very exciting news.

Last month, we were so happy to announce the launch of Love Soul Choir Bournemouth. They were missing one thing though… and that was their leader. Well… we have now found him! We’re not sexist (we’re sure that one day a woman will lead a Love Soul Choir), but we are picky. Of course it’s important that the leader is right for us at Love Soul, but it’s even more important that we are right for them.

We’re so excited to get started!

Bournemouth… We’re Back

Last year we had to place Love Soul Choir Bournemouth ‘on hold.’ Once we started back in the Love Soul office this year, our key focus was to develop some huge ideas and come back to Bournemouth in a big way… well, here we are!

We guess you could say that Love Soul Choir has changed since we’ve been gone. We recently released our brand new ‘Virtual Director’, which makes it very easy for all members to rehearse in the week. It gives members access to harmonies, lyrics and access to the Love Soul Choir ‘Dance Concept.’

For 2011, we also aim to perform more, after all… it’s what we do! Whether it’s performing as Love Soul Choir or choosing to sing solo at our ‘Performance Nights’, there are now plenty more opportunities to get your voice heard!

Lastly, we now have a new audition process. We love finding the very best, and it’s with this new audition process that we do this! In a nut shell, we’re very glad to be back, giving Bournemouth a new and fresh choir to be proud of!

Excitement Grows In The Love Soul Camp

Wow, have we got a lot to talk about!? Love Soul Choir Southampton and Love Soul Choir Manchester have been working very hard this year so far. Churning out the harmonies every week and working towards performances to entertain the two cities. We always try to keep you up to date with what’s going on. (If you’re a real nosey parker… check out our Facebook page for updates too!)

Although we’re very busy at the moment, we always find time to work with our chosen charity of the year ‘Rose Road’, you can see Southampton’s very own Love Soul Choir performing in WestQuay Shopping Centre in October this year… we’re hoping to raise lots of cash!

Love Soul Choir Manchester only started back in March this year, but already they are sounding great! The Love Soul Co-Creators headed up to visit the Manchester members recently, and wow, what a sound! We can’t wait to expose the brand new members to more great experiences, like their very own performance night which we’re organising now!

We like singing, but we also love to party. It won’t be long before Father Christmas will be packing his sleigh, so we’re also starting to plan our ‘Christmas Social’ for December this year. If you’ve got a venue that you’d like to see Love Soul Choir at this Christmas, get in touch!

All in all, it’s pretty packed to the brim at Love Soul HQ at the moment, but we’re not gonna stop ‘till we’ve got enough. Sing it. Live it. Love it!
