Southampton Leader: Jack White
Jack White is the man behind every harmony you experience at Love Soul Choir, nationwide. Yes, the harmonies that were once described as ‘Vocal Beauty’ by pop giant Anastasia. In 2007 when Jack landed a part in The King Of Pop’s West End musical ‘Thriller Live’, he was surrounded by gospel harmonies every day and knew this was his passion. He started Love Soul with Steve Giles back when he was 16 and was once described as a ‘secret weapon’ by composer Steve Sidwell. He gets the best of both worlds. Because he’s been attached to Southampton for a long time, he continues to lead the first ever Love Soul every week, as well as doing all the other exciting stuff that a Love Soul Co-Creator gets to do!
Expanding Love Soul Choir, and meeting singers across the UK with Steve Giles takes time, but Jack continues to fulfil his passion of teaching harmonies and experiencing his arrangements firsthand.
Arranging music is probably Jack’s biggest passion in life… weirdo.
Love Soul Choir Southampton is very special. It is special because it is the first ever Love Soul Choir. If you need another reason, it also hosts an incredible bunch of vocalists who are extremely passionate about what they do!
Born in March 2009, Love Soul Choir has been a very busy bee ever since. With invitations to perform at many high profile events including;
- The Black History Month annual Concert
- Southampton and Portsmouth City Council’s Christmas light switch-on
- Portsmouth City Council’s ‘Countdown to the Olympics’
- Heart FM’s re-launch concert
- Southampton Football Club pre match performance
Love Soul Choir Southampton has also been lucky enough to record with Number 1 MySpace artist Joe Brooks, on his album. The group has also toured the South of England on the Love Soul bus, performing at over 16 Asda stores in aid of Children in Need.
It would appear that the sky is the limit for Love Soul Choir Southampton. With a boxful of talent, wrapped up with soulful goodness and a Big Red ribbon, we cannot wait to see what is going to happen next!!
